Our Board

Chris rejoined the Board in February 2014 and was appointed President. He was previously WA President from 2004-08 and national deputy president in 2006-07.

His professional career has included 15 years as a journalist in Australia and Asia, 20 years as a partner in a national public relations firm advising corporations and government agencies, and he has been CEO of two medium-sized organisations. He is now a semi-retired consultant and devotes half his time to community activities. He brings a corporate and marketing perspective to the organisation.

Tony rejoined the Board in March 2017. Before first joining the Board in 2008 he was an adviser to the Board and Chief Executive Officer, and member of the Finance Committee for four years. He is currently Vice President, a position he held from 2008-2016 at which time he resigned.

A member of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia, he holds a Master of Business Administration degree from UWA. Tony has a range of company secretarial, financial and commercial management skills and experience, principally in the manufacturing and resources sectors. He has been a senior executive of a major WA industrial company and has been a management consultant for the last seventeen years, specialising in commercial advice and financial management.

Noelene rejoined the Board in May 2018. Noelene has qualifications in Science and Computing, and a Masters degree in Commerce majoring in Industrial Relations. Noelene is currently Director Corporate Strategy & Performance with the City of Wanneroo. Prior to this role she has worked in State Government positions in South Australia and a Western Australia, and in local government in Western Australia.

Her community work includes board membership of the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund. She is an active Evaluator for the Australian Organisational Excellence Awards, is a member of the Australian Computer Society, the LG Professionals, the Institute of Public Administration of Australia and the Australian Institute of Manager.

Lisa Wood is based at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and is an Associate Professor within the School of Population and Global Health, and a Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Social Impact (UWA Business School). Lisa holds a PhD, Postgraduate Diploma in Health Promotion and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours). Lisa joined the Board in July 2013.

Lisa teaches in the area of health leadership and is involved in a variety of research projects aimed at reducing health inequities experienced by vulnerable population groups. Her research focuses on health and homelessness prevention, along with projects relating to mental health, domestic violence prevention and closing the gap in Aboriginal wellbeing. Lisa has worked in the fields of public health, policy and legislation development, social marketing campaigns, program development, management and evaluation.

Alan was invited to join the Board in September 2015. He is a General Practitioner and is passionate about opportunistic preventive care, particularly in the setting of men attending their GP. He has considerable experience in the military and credits his service with his sound organisational skills. Alan has extensive experience in the management of Diabetes and was appointed to the Board of Diabetes WA in 2012.

Alan has served on a variety of Boards, including the Advisory Board of Andrology Australia, and the Board of Asthma WA. He is active in GP education, particularly in the areas of Diabetes, Men’s Health and Obstructive Respiratory disease.

Lucy re-joined the Board in October 2018. After working in various media roles, including five years with BBC Television in London, Lucy moved to Australia in 1980 and worked as a journalist and sub-editor on regional newspapers. She then took on a variety of public relations roles in environment, health and energy, specialising in issues management and government relations.

Between 2005 and 2008, while running her own consultancy, she worked part-time for Relationships Australia WA, managing media and communications. She then joined the RAWA Board for a period of nine years, chairing the Governance Committee for much of that time. In 2012 Lucy moved to country WA where she worked in governance for local government for six years and is now editor of the local paper.

David joined the RAWA Board in November 2019.  David has extensive C-Level experience in a range of industries including Finance, Aged Care, Mining, Management Consulting and now in Local Government where he holds the position of Director Corporate & Strategy with the City of Bayswater.  David’s qualifications include an Executive MBA from UWA, a Fellow with Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia, and an Advanced Diploma of Metalliferous Mining.

David’s community work has included holding Board positions with the Goldfields Institute of Technology, Central Regional TAFE, Regional Development Australia Goldfields-Esperance, Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and in the Performing Arts with Skadada.
